Ok, I put together all of the abstracts to the articles I found and attached them to this site. I'm in the process of reading the articles (in full) and will let you know how they are.

1) define which literature you are looking at and why it is important to our topic
2) do not put one source in each paragraph, but organize your paragraphs in terms of what the papers said. like sheena, do one on papers that said such and such about new urbanism and housing prices, and another on a different issue. also, make a statement about the literature on this subject as a whole. like where are there missing pieces, is the literature strong or weak on this subject. ALSO, and this is most important, is how it relates to our specific topic. any weaknesses. like jo has some papers from europe, say that while it is not most applicable to eugene, that it is still relevent, etc.
3) Look at the past papers lit reviews as well as google "how to write a economic lit review" which i found really helpful.
when we meet tomorrow, we will define some things that need to be done first that will make this easier. i know we wanted it done by this weekend, but i think that it will take more time, unfortunatly. so no need to do further research, just do some good organizing of your thoughts and such.
Hey, I can meet between 2 and 5 on Monday. Will this time work for you guys?

:: POSSIBLE SURVEY VARIABLES::
(1) Number of units
(2) Number of bedrooms. (Seems best to standardize on 2 bedroom apartment, asking questions about every dif size will get old.)
(3) Number of bathrooms
(4) Bedroom to bathroom ratio???
(5) Square footage of apt.
(6) Year built (might have info on this)
(7) Monthly rent for unfurnished, 1 year lease.
(8) lease length requirements (not necc if just ask for 1 year? Does anyone do 9 months for students?)
(9) allows pets or not
(10) Deposits
(11) Cleaning fee
(12) work out facilities
(13) basketball/ volleyball courts
(14) community pool/ number of pools
(15) club house
(16) bicycle storage
(17) year built (might have info on this)
Hardwood floors or not
(18)Vaulted ceilings or not.
Microwave.
(19) Washer and dryer in unit
(20) washer and dryer in complex
(21) Near bus line to campus. We can just ask? (get this from GIS or LTD instead)
(22) Travel time to campus on bike, walking, by car, by bus etc. We can just ask to get travel time in minutes. This would measure how long it takes to get to campus, vs. how far literally it is to campus. Might get different result. (I’d just measure with GIS, for consistency.)
(22) accepts section 8 or not. Do not know exactly what this means, but seems important. Probably related to low income/ subsidized housing, is my guess. (Yes section 8 is a voucher program for low income. Seems worth asking.)
These are just possible ones that most either listed, or i figured we would want to know. Let me know if you have any suggestions for any more.
